It drives me bonkers to see folks who leave their American flag up 24/7 without a light shining on it :-( I wonder if perhaps they just aren't aware of some of the rules or "etiquette" of displaying our country's flag? Here they are:
The National Flag Code dates back to Flag Day in 1092. Congress passes a joint resolution to create a flag code and make it public law.
The flag should always be illuminated by either the sun or by a light at night.
The flag should always be displayed with the stars facing up.
No other flag should be placed above or to the right of the American flag when flying at the same level.
The flag should never touch anything beneath it like the ground, floor or water.
The flag should never be worn as apparel, drapery or bedding.
