Ways To Bring Back That Loving Feeling When It Fades

GERMANY-WEATHER-FEATURE

It would be wonderful if we fell in love and the relationship stayed exciting, romantic, and fulfilling until the end of time. Unfortunately, in real life, couples hit rough patches and sometimes that includes realizing that deep down, you don’t feel the same way about your partner as you used to. Falling out of love can leave you feeling like you’re in a kind of relationship purgatory, but if you want to revive and repair your romance, couples therapist Michelle Herzog says it’s absolutely possible.

Falling back in love with your partner may not be easy, but she says it can be done and these therapist-approved tips can help:

·Break old habits - Figure out the issues that contributed to the downfall of the relationship. It’s easy to get caught up in what your partner did or didn’t do, but own your part and focus on what you can control and change.

·Prioritize each other - Remember when you couldn’t get away from each other in the early days as a couple? Bring back that honeymoon phase feeling by purposefully setting aside time for each other.

·Show up authentically - If you both don’t feel like you can be your true, genuine selves, your “personal fires” go out and then your relationship loses heat. So be open and honest with your partner about your real self and if your relationship can’t survive that, then it’s not the right one for you. But if it’s a healthy bond, your connection will feel stronger and more vibrant when you bring more of yourself to it.

·Don't force it - Both of you need to be fully committed and motivated to making it work, or it won’t. If one of you is halfway out the door, the other won’t be able to revive the relationship alone. And sometimes you have to respectfully let each other go, even if it hurts.
