A wind advisory is set to be in effect today for the Catskills and Mid-Hudson Valley, starting at 11 a.m. and lasting until 8 a.m. tomorrow (November 1). The National Weather Service has issued this advisory due to expected gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour, which could lead to fallen tree limbs and potential power outages.

The advisory comes as a storm system moves through the region, bringing with it not only strong winds but also a chance of rain. While the heaviest rain is expected to clear by Friday morning, spotty showers may still occur during prime trick-or-treating hours. Temperatures are forecasted to drop from the mid-50s in the afternoon to near 40 degrees by Saturday morning.

According to Yahoo News, the wind advisory is part of a broader weather pattern affecting much of the Northeast, with gusts potentially exacerbated by wet ground conditions from recent rainfall. The Times Union reports that the strongest winds are expected late Friday afternoon into the night, making it important for residents to remain cautious.

For those planning to head out for Halloween festivities, it is advisable to stay updated with the latest weather alerts available at weather.gov.
