Kelly Clarkson wishes she could play more shows with her band, but her eponymous talk show keeps her busy.
The "Stronger" standout commented on her rigorous schedule during her first concert in six months in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Friday (May 9) evening, per Page Six.
"We havenβt done a show in a while, y'all, 'cause I have a talk show. Itβs like a whole other job," she explained to the crowd.
"We are bummed 'cause we love doing shows, and itβs hard to fit it in, so itβs cool when it does work out with the schedule. And itβs cool to get to see your faces and feed off y'all. Thank you so much for having so much energy."
Clarkson, who hasn't toured in six years, also noted that on top of The Kelly Clarkson Show and carving out time for live performances with her band, she also has her plate full with being a mother to her children, River, 10, and Remington, 8, whom she shares with withΒ ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
This is not the first time the "Since U Been Gone" hitmaker has remarked on her packed agenda. In March, she spoke about her kids' school having assemblies that she could not attend because she was working.
"I donβt know when the school systems thought it would be a good plan for families and their emotional stability to start having performances at 10 a.m. during the week. A lot of parents work. A lot of jobs wouldnβt let you do that anyway, but even if youβre the boss and you would have that control, our kids donβt understand."
Earlier that month, Clarkson was absent from her talk show for over a week before returning for the 1000th episode without mentioning why she took a break.
