Anna Kendrick was not mincing her words as she called out a director for an "icky" comment he made while trying to "embarrass" her in front of dozens of people on set.

During a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Pitch Perfect star told host Josh Horowitz all about the less-than-favorable interaction she had on a film set with an unnamed director. Kendrick said the director told her to try improvising a line while shooting a scene, but when she did, he made sure to let everyone know that he wasn't impressed, per Page Six.

"I did it and then the director called cut and came over and, once again in front of 100 extras, was like, 'Oof, let's go back to the script!'" she said, calling the "very icky" comments a "very specific power move" meant to "embarrass" and "gain dominance" over her.

However, Kendrick seemed to get the last laugh as her improvisation was featured in the trailer for the film.

"And then the thing that I improved ended up in the trailer," she said. "So, f--- you!"

Kendrick recently released her own directorial debut with Netflix's Woman of the Hour, a film based on a true story in which she stars as a woman searching for love on an episode of The Dating Game that ends up on a date with show contestant and serial killer Rodney Alcala.
