AJ McLean may be proud of the work he and his bandmates have put in to the Backstreet Boys over the past three decades, churning out catchy hits and romantic love songs that drive fans wild, but there is one track that he wishes they could "retire" and that considers to be "the worst song ever."
McLean recently revealed to People that he thinks the track "If You Want It to Be Good Girl (Get Yourself a Bad Boy)," from Backstreet Boys' 1996 debut album, is "literally one of the dumbest songs," even joking that because the group played it at a show in Mexico last month they can "retire it for life" and "bury it, burn it, shoot it, whatever!"
"Everybody loves that song, but why?" he said. "It's the worst song ever. We were joking in the booth [about] sounding like a bag of cats being hit against the wall, and it made the final record."
However, McLean also shared some of the songs he expected to take off and be bigger hits than they were, including "Siberia" from the 2005 album Never Gone, "Don't Wanna Lose You Now" and "Don't Want You Back" from 1999's Millennium, and "Get Another Boyfriend" from 2000's Black & Blue, a track he called "one of my favorites."
McLean reunited with *NSYNC's Lance Bass earlier this year to celebrate both being in their "pink era," showing off their matching colorful hairstyles in a fun lip-syncing video that got fans begging for a joint BSB/*NSYNC tour.
