When it comes to GIFTS, Mother's Day seems like a bigger deal than Father's Day . . . no matter how unfair that is to all the superstar dads.
In a new poll, more than 1,000 Americans were asked how close to Father's Day they purchase a gift . . . and 8% responded, "When is Father's Day?" (Ouch.) 6% said "one day before," and 3% said "on the way to Father's Day dinner."
26% of people admitted that they've forgotten to get Dad a gift at least once, and 30% said they've been late . . . either "sometimes," "always," or "frequently" late.
Even worse, we have excuses. When asked who they blame for a gift being late, the responses include: USPS . . . retailers . . . porch pirates . . . COVID-19 . . . and "supply chain issues." (???)
When dads were asked about the worst Father's Day gifts, 22% said it was when they got "nothing." 10% said a traditional tie . . . and 5% said socks.
Other answers include: Macaroni art . . . a "bad letter" . . . a pet rock . . . a fish plaque . . . a plunger . . . Pokémon cards . . . and a "taxidermied alligator head."
