If this kid went to school and told his teacher "An old lady stole my homework," they may not believe him . . . but he has surveillance video to prove it.
There's a fourth grader in San Carlos Park, Florida named Gabriel, who's the reigning champion of his school's science fair. And he had a sweet new invention planned for this year: A solar oven that could bake cupcakes.
The oven had been in development for weeks . . . it was created from half of a GLOBE, and it was insulated. On Sunday, he was running some final tests since it was due TODAY.
The "oven" was in the family's driveway . . . heating up in the sun . . . when it was stolen. And the theft was caught on a surveillance camera. A car pulls up . . . an older woman climbs out . . . grabs it . . . and the car drives away.
Now, the contraption was toward the end of their driveway, so someone may have thought it was left out for anyone who wanted it. BUT . . . upon closer inspection, it should've been obvious that this was not a giveaway.
The family is hoping it was a misunderstanding and that the oven will be returned.
