In the Philippines, it’s safe to say that Brenda Delgado has found her niche. While “sweeping dead bugs from her workspace,” a lightning bolt of brilliance hit her square on the noggin. Noticing how “shiny and smooth” the wings of dead cockroaches were, she saw them not as disgusting, but as a canvas.

She took some oil paints and started using the wings as a surface on which to recreate masterpieces like Van Gough’s “Starry Night” or Vermeer’s “Girl With a Pearl Earring.” Even a picture of Spider-Man!

From there, social media took over, with some accusing her of animal cruelty…even though the bugs are dead…and others raving, saying they’d love to have someone paint beautiful things on their corpses after they’re gone. Ok then.
