Of all the classic cold-weather pranks, the good old reliable “tongue on the frozen flagpole” is a tried-and-true classic as immortalized in “A Christmas Story”. If you’re one that dumb enough to get pushed into doing it, it’ll be a big help to pay attention so you can learn how to free yourself from your embarrassing predicament.
Having a friend pour warm water slowly over your stuck tongue will get you free. However, if you’re alone, don’t have access to warm water, or have friends that are like my friends – a bunch of doofuses – all hope is not lost.
Simply cup your hands around the area of the pole where your tongue is stuck and breathe in it. That’ll create a “warm cave” that should free-up your tongue within a few minutes.
