WINDHAM – Two Durham residents were killed when their car crossed into the opposite lane of travel on Route 23 in the Town of Windham early Sunday afternoon and collided with a pick-up truck.
State Police said initial investigation revealed a 1998 Mercedes Benz, driven by Cameron Marron, 36, was traveling west when he crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck a 2013 Nissan Titan pick-up truck traveling eastbound.
Marron and his passenger, Nancy Marron, 63, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up, Shawn Smith, 34, of the Town of Ashland, was transported to Albany Medical Center via medivac. He was listed in stable condition with injuries to his right leg.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
State Police were assisted by Hansenville and Windham fire departments.
