TOWN OF NEWBURGH – The NYS Thruway/I-87 northbound is closed as of Wednesday, September 22, at 5:30 a.m.
Initial reports indicate that a tractor-trailer hauling hazardous materials is on fire on the road near the Plattekill rest area.
Fire departments from the Air National Guard, Cronomer Valley, and Modena are operating at the scene along with the Orange County HAZMAT team.
