The Vassar Haiti Project is hosting a campaign in support of Femmes de Chermaitre, a women’s co-operative in the rural mountain village of Chermaitre, Haiti.
Femmes de Chermaitre provides a space of solidarity for the women to develop business-related skills. The funds raised through this campaign will be used to purchase sewing machines and hire an expert seamstress to teach the women how to use the machines. In addition to skills training and adult education classes, the funds raised will support a microfinancing loan program for the women to support their families.
