Home sales skyrocket in Ulster County

KINGSTON – The pandemic-related pent-up demand for single-family home purchasing in Ulster County has driven selling prices up by 45 percent, according to the Ulster County Board of Realtors/Hudson Valley Catskill Region MLS.
The average selling price in April stood at $459,164, up from $315,898 one year earlier.
Homes are selling at a rate 34 percent faster than in April 2020, going from 122 days on the market to 80. That has translated into 52 percent fewer available listings.
In April, 152 homes were sold, compared to 114 sold a year earlier – a 33 percent increase.
During the first four months of 2021, 641 homes sold, compared to 478 during the same period last year – a 34 percent increase.
The average selling price year-to-date rose by 40.5 percent, from $289,317 to $406,562.
