Dutchess County Fair coming back this summer

Fair-Eblast
RHINEBECK – The popular Dutchess County Fair, which was sidelined last summer like everything else because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will return this summer from August 24 through the 29th.
County Executive Marcus Molinaro said the fair “becomes the largest city” in the county during the week it is open.
With its agricultural and other exhibits and entertainment, the fair employs hundreds of people and draws thousands to Rhinebeck, said Molinaro.
“Dutchess County Fair is a tremendous economic engine for the Village of Rhinebeck, Dutchess County and the region,” he said.
The fair generates some $2 million in financial benefits to the county.
It is the second largest fair in the state, second only to the Erie County Fair, Molinaro said.
Official Press Release:
Dutchess County Fair returns in August
RHINEBECK, NY - Dutchess County Fair President/CEO Andy Imperati announced Wednesday that the Dutchess County Fair is returning to the fairgrounds in August. The 2021 Fair will take place Tuesday, August 24 through Sunday, August 29.
There are over 50 fairs in New York State. Some of them less than 70 days away. As of today, county fairs still do not have guidance to move forward with reopening. Some have announced that they have canceled their 2021 fair due to time constraints and lack of information.
“We are still waiting for COVID-19 guidelines from Albany and have been actively working with our County Executive and his team as well as the Dutchess County Department of Health to have a plan in place to safely open our gates. As we get closer to the fair, we will look at what protocols will need to be in place for us to have a fair,” stated Imperati.
Although this year’s fair may look a little different to adjust to the pending COVID-19 guidelines, organizers are excited to bring people back together. Fairgoer favorites including the midway, fun fair food, animals and free entertainment will all be part of the 2021 fair.
“We encourage you to check our website and social media pages for updates. Tickets and other information should be available starting in June through the Dutchess County Fair’s website,” added Imperati.
