Dutchess County’s economy rebounding, says Molinaro

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County is showing signs of an economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, County Executive Marc Molinaro said Wednesday.
Molinaro listed evidence of that rebirth as he spoke to the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“Over the last several months we have seen this community get back into action and investment continue yet again and it is happening. I can tell you that just from sales tax receipts. Business is starting to grow again, people are starting to spend again, but most notably, businesses are investing again,” he said.
Molinaro pointed to projects at the county’s Hudson Valley Airport in Wappinger, Amazon planning a distribution center in East Fishkill, leisure and hospitality training, and the development of a new Southern Dutchess campus of Dutchess Community College.
