Police search for suspects in Town of Poughkeepsie shooting incident

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Police are investigating an incident of gunfire that took place Sunday afternoon at an Innis Avenue apartment complex in the Town of Poughkeepsie. The shooting at Royal Cove Apartments at 134 Innis Avenue took place around 1 p.m.
Bullet casings were recovered in the vicinity of building “B” and the building itself was damaged by bullets. There were no reports of any injuries.
Reports say that a black pickup truck occupied by two white or Hispanic men fired several shots at a blue van that was occupied by several juveniles.
Responding officers were advised that the truck, with flames painted on the front, fled the complex and was last seen traveling towards Salt Point Turnpike. The van fled the complex traveling south on Innis Avenue towards the City of Poughkeepsie.
A police bulletin issued to all law enforcement agencies in the county advised that the occupants of the pickup truck were to be considered armed.
The town police had several officers and crime scene technicians at the apartment complex. Residents were interviewed.
