A Wisconsin Restaurant Is Offering $1,000 For The Return Of A Giant Rooster

It’s not everyday that someone commits “grand theft chicken,” but the owner of a Wisconsin restaurant is dealing with exactly that.

The giant rooster statue that has been a landmark outside the Osseo Family Restaurant in Osseo was taken last week. Amazingly, owner Artan Shabani didn’t realize it was gone until a customer asked if he had gotten rid of it.

This wasn’t an easy heist; the rooster is 12 feet tall, four feet wide and was bolted to the ground with steel beams for the 30 years it had been in place. Shabani spoke with the police about the theft but doesn’t plan on pressing charges if it ends up being a prank.

They didn’t harm anybody; they didn’t damage the property or the business or anything. The amazing part of his attitude? “I’ll still give them the $1,000 reward for bringing it back, too, and give them a free meal at the restaurant.” There haven’t been may leads according to Shabani, and if it’s not returned he plans to replace it with a new one.
