New Yorkers 50-plus now eligible for vaccinations

ALBANY – Effective today residents age 50 and over may sign up for COVID-19 vaccinations.
Governor Cuomo made the announcement on Monday.
There is one catch though; there isn’t enough vaccine to go around for everyone just yet, he said.
“We don’t yet have the increase in the allocations so what people are really doing is making an appointment for when the allocation does increase. We want to get those appointments set up so when the allocation does come, we are ready for it in terms of arms that are ready for needles,” he said.
Persons may sign up through a number of different means – through the state, county, federally-designated health care centers or pharmacies.
