Warrior of the week: Anthony Kavouras Director of Veterans Programs at MHA Dutchess.
Check out our phone call with Anthony below.
Here is a bit of what Devin emailed us about Anthony.
"Anthony Kavouras is the Director of Veterans Programs, here at Mental Health America of Dutchess County. Prior to taking the Director position, Anthony managed the agency's HERO Program, helping Veterans find suitable housing. He also is in charge of our NY Project Hope currently, which is focused on providing short-term COVID counseling and services.
Anthony spent the greater part of his life serving in the United States Air Force, 34.5 years to be exact! During his tenure, Anthony worked in security forces for the Air Force, allowing his career to send him all over the country and world. Anthony deployed to Afghanistan, as well as served at Ground Zero following the 9/11 attacks. Anthony has had a tremendous military career and exemplified what it means to be an American service member.
After leaving service, Anthony has continued to dedicate himself to the greater cause, which is why he has worked with Veterans for over 6 years. Anthony sits on various committees and boards, all of which help Veterans in the community."
