COVID-19 update: Vassar Brothers Medical Center visitation changes effective March 9

Poughkeepsie, NY — March 9, 2021 — Due to a decline of COVID-19 in the community, Vassar Brothers Medical Center, part of Nuvance Health, will begin limited visitation for inpatients, effective Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

Inpatients without suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are allowed one support person per day for up to four hours. Visitors must remain in the patient’s room for the entire visit and follow the hospital’s personal protective equipment guidelines. Daily visitation hours are from 2 to 6 p.m.

Visitation remains restricted in the emergency department and for patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, unless the patient is under age 21, a maternity patient or if extenuating circumstances apply.
