Parents Reveal The Funniest Reasons For Vetoing Baby Names

It isn’t always easy picking a name for your child, and it’s often the source of some major debate between the mom and dad. There are tons of reasons why one person may not like a name, and now some parents are revealing the reasons behind their vetoes.

The Huffington Post asked their readers to share the funniest reasons they or their partner nixed a baby name and some are pretty hilarious.

Some Reasons include:

  • A woman named Anna Beer was “set on naming our son Holden,” and gave her husband the middle name to choose. He wanted Atticus, but she notes, “then we did the “resume” test: Holden A. Beer. Probably not the best idea.”
  • “Our last name is Wood. Many things are slightly inappropriate. Morgan means ‘morning’ in German. That was a big NO.”
  • “I wanted to name our daughter either Ophelia or Eden ... husband vetoed both. Ophelia because he said she will always get ‘oh, I’ll feel ya, baby,’ and Eden because she would get ‘let me in your garden, baby.’ He ruined both names for me. Her name is Ava.”
