Hot New YouTube Trend Is... Watching Videos of Strangers Silently Studying?

If you thought it sounded boring to watch YouTube videos of other people playing video games, I don't know WHAT you'll think of this.

One of the big new YouTube trends is . . . watching random strangers study.

That's right: It's just a video of someone sitting there, for hours at a time, quietly studying. They usually don't even acknowledge the camera.

The trend started in South Korea but has spread to other countries, including the U.S.

So why do people like these videos? One, some people like to put them on when THEY'RE studying or working, so they feel like they're not doing it alone . . . and can even get motivation from someone else working hard.

Two, seeing someone else struggling to study can be a good reminder you're not the only one having trouble with work . . . so the videos are motivational.

And three, some people just like them for the ambient noise . . . it feels like being in a library, which can help get you in the right mindset to focus.
