PORT JERVIS – As the City of Port Jervis continues to work on its police services re-envisioning plan as required by the state, Mayor Kelly Decker has reported serious crimes declined last year.
The mayor said the drop is significant when viewed over a several year span.
“Part One, which is your more serious crimes in 2020, were down 7.4 percent from 2019 and down 65.5 percent from 1996 at its highest point,” he said.
Those municipal police re-imaging reports are due to the state by April 1.
