Shoppers who went to pay down their layaway purchases at a Bristol, Tennessee, Walmart were shocked to find they owed nothing. A generous stranger already took care of the bills, paying off every item on layaway at the store.
Store manager Sean Templeton calls it the most “mind-blowing” act of kindness he’s witnessed in his nearly 18-years with Walmart. He says the person, who wishes to remain anonymous, came in with the idea of paying off all the layaway accounts, and at first Templeton was skeptical. He told them it was a lot of money, but they said the money didn’t matter.
The donor returned with the $65-thousand in cash and had just one simple request to go with the gift. He told the manager, “Please tell them Merry Christmas and I love them.” “I hope this inspires people to know that there is still a lot of good in this world,” Templeton says. “He was just so genuine.”
Well if he wants to swing by the Hudson Valley to do the same thing, I wouldn't get mad!
