POUGHKEEPSIE – City police in Poughkeepsie are investigating a Thursday night shooting in the vicinity of Montgomery Street and Garfield Place that has sent one victim to the hospital.
At approximately 6:48 p.m., city 911 received several calls for “shots fired” near Montgomery Street and Garfield Place. Responding officers were able to locate shell casings at the scene.
As officers were investigating, a man with gunshot wounds arrived at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. The wounds to the buttocks and leg were considered non-life-threatening.
The investigation is continuing. Police are asking that anyone with information call 845-451-7577.
