Driver Gets Arrested After He Thought A Trooper Was Trying To Race Him

A Utah man was arrested Saturday after police say he drove on the wrong side of the freeway at speeds over 100 miles per hour while intoxicated.

Cory Roy White was clocked at 110 mph at one point during the pursuit. Eventually, the highway patrol was able to perform a pit maneuver and stop the driver's van.

Cory told the officer that he thought he was dreaming, and "he thought the Trooper was just trying to race him."

He was arrested on nine counts ranging from traffic infractions to felony-level offenses, including driving under the influence, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and having an open container of alcohol.

He is being held without bail.
