Ulster County home sales skyrocket

KINGSTON – Home sales in Ulster County increased by 43 percent in September compared with the same month last year, according to the Ulster County Board of Realtors.
County officials have been saying that because of the high number of cases of the coronavirus in the New York metropolitan area, more and more people are moving north.
Another sign of demand is available listings this past September totaled 200, compared with 707 one year earlier. And homes were on the market an average of 50 days this September, compared with 90 days last year.
The average selling price this past September was $418,402, compared to $334,931 one year earlier.
Year to date, sales rose by 1.3 percent with average selling price was $357,028, compared to $292,497, in 2019.
