KINGSTON – Ulster County officials wanted an independent review of the Kingstonian project’s cost-benefit, and the National Development Council has now completed its preliminary report.
County Executive Patrick Ryan will release the report on Friday.
Legislature Chairman David Donaldson said lawmakers will delay all votes related to the project until the finalized report is received. “This will allow the needed time for all parties involved to better understand the contents of the independent report,” he said.
Kingston School Board President James Shaughnessy, Jr. also said there will be no action taken by the board until all parties are heard from.
“As part of our Uniform Tax Exemption Policy, our board has made it a point to try to obtain the consent of all the affected tax jurisdictions on deviated PILOT agreements,” said Ulster County Industrial Development Agency Chairman James Malcolm. “We support each jurisdiction doing their own due diligence on any of these projects. By working together, we can help ensure that the residents of Ulster County receive the best possible outcome.”
