A hand sanitizer available in Michigan has been recalled because it was incorrectly labeled "edible alcohol." Officials would like to be 100 percent clear that there is no such thing.
CorgioMed, LLC is voluntarily recalling all lots of Leafree Instant Hand Sanitizer-Aloe Vera, an alcohol-based hand rub that can be applied externally to reduce bacteria on the skin when soap and water are not available. Again, the hand sanitizer should not be consumed in any situation whatsoever.
The company noted that the labeling of the product as "edible alcohol" may promote the behavior of ingesting it, which is not recommended in any situation.
Consumers should contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking or using the product.
CorgioMed issued the voluntary recall with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
My question is why and how did it get labelled like that in the first place!
