MONTICELLO – Casinos including Resorts World Catskills in Kiamesha Lake remain closed because of COVID-19 and State Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther (D, Forestburgh) would like Governor Cuomo to tour the facility with her for him to see the health and safety precautions that have been put in place.
Gunther said the gambling venue has implemented measures to protect staff and customers from contracting the deadly virus and she would like the governor to see for himself what they have done.
“Other forms of entertainment opening, opening, opening, and I think that in order to make a good decision, you have to do due diligence and due diligence means you need to come to Sullivan County and take a walk on the wild side with me to the casino,” she said.
Some 2,000 employees of the casino complex have been laid off because the facility remains closed.
