Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival Postponed 2020

The annual Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival at the Dutchess County Fair Grounds has been postponed.

In an Instagram post they shared earlier:

"After extensive consideration, the 29th Annual Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival, scheduled for July 10-12, 2020, is being postponed until a later date in the fall of this year. The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce is working with its partners on alternative formats to this event. The movement of the festival to the fall will still provide the majesty of hot-air balloons, and an opportunity for attendees from around the region and beyond to safely participate in the event while enjoying all that the Hudson Valley offers.

This decision was not made lightly but the safety and health of our attendees and staff are our utmost concern. Without further guidance from New York State on events, we did not have a clear path forward in the month of July and we were left without any other alternative. We will continue to work with health experts on how to safely operate an outdoor festival during these uncertain times, using the most up-to-date public health information and data. Further details will be announced as soon as possible.

Anyone who has previously purchased tickets to attend the event, ride in a balloon, or participate as a vendor will be contacted to provide a refund. We hope to see these attendees at our event in the fall, or at next year’s festival where we will be celebrating our 30th balloon festival.

We do want to take this chance to thank the Dutchess County Fairgrounds and all of our sponsors for their understanding and support in making this event possible. Without their help, this event would not be possible."
