NEWBURGH – Monday night was another night of violence in the City of Newburgh.
At about 11:30 p.m., City Police were called to the area of Renwick and South Lander Streets for a report of a large fight involving over 200 people.
As officers were responding there were two Shot Spotter notifications totaling seven rounds fire in the same area.
When officers responded, they noticed a vehicle speeding away from the scene and heading to a local hospital where the male stabbing victim was brought into the emergency room.
The man, who was uncooperative with police, had sustained multiple stab wounds that were not considered life-threatening.
About 40 minutes later, police were called to 48 Overlook Place for a male stabbing victim. He had been stabbed several times with injuries considered life threatening, police said. He was rushed to the hospital by Mobile Life Support Services.
The incidents are being investigated by City of Newburgh Police detectives. Anyone with information is asked to call 845-569-7509. All calls can be held confidential.
