Parents Are Worried About How Their Kids Will Handle A Canceled Summer

Now while we can’t do a lot of things we normally do this year, I’m personally trying to not say that summer has been canceled …BUT that we’ll need to enjoy it in different ways.

A new survey finds:

·80% of parents say COVID-19 will have a negative impact on their summer.

·Parents say they are going to miss out on an average of four planned events.

·Parents had already spent, on average, about $125.63 on summer events that won’t happen, with 25% saying they couldn’t get their money back.

·The top summer event canceled due to the coronavirus is a trip to the beach (49%), followed by:

·Vacation (48%)

·Normal party (39%)

·Birthday party (38%)

·Family reunion (34%)

·Your own birthday (30%)

·Cookout (25%)

·Work trip (23%)

·Concert (22%)

·A move (17%)

For all these reasons, parents are a little concerned about how their children are going to handle the summer.

·60% believe it’s going to be a challenge to keep their kid entertained.

·The average parent believes their kids will be frustrated by July 2nd.

·64% of moms and dads feel guilty their children won’t experience the typical summer.

·70% though are looking forward to a slower summer so they can spend more time with their kids.
