Hudson Valley enters Phase 1 reopening, and other updates for May 26, 2020

·In today’s (Tuesday) press conference Governor Andrew Cuomo officially announced the Mid-Hudson Region could begin Phase 1 reopening today.

·Governor Cuomo reiterated that the Regional Control Groups would continue to monitor the 7 metrics and would determine how to handle any new spikes in cases. If these metrics begin to rise, it is possible for a region to be shut back down to stop the spread of the virus. These metrics can also be found HERE.

·The Governor also announced he would be meeting with President Trump tomorrow to discuss funding for states, support needed to help jump start the economy, and an increase for infrastructure spending.

·The Treasury Department has released an interim final rule for the Paycheck Protection Program's loan forgiveness. The interim final rule can be found HERE. ·Veterinarian practices across the state may reopen starting today.

Under an Executive Order signed by Governor Cuomo on Friday, gatherings of 10 or fewer individuals for non-essential purposes are allowed under the condition that social distancing protocols and disinfecting protocols are followed. The Executive Order can be found HERE.
