A Man Donates iPads To Help Keep Elderly Connected To Families

A New Jersey man who recently lost his father and had to say his final goodbye over FaceTime is helping other seniors stay connected to their loved ones.

John Lynch’s father was at a memory care center in Atlanta and because of coronavirus restrictions, he couldn’t see him in person before he died.

After his own experience and learning that some nurses are using their personal cell phones to help patients connect with family, he decided to do something to help.

Now he’s started “Operation Connection: The iPad Project” to get tablets in the hands of elderly patients at health care facilities so they can see their family and friends online.

So far, the project has collected more than 60 iPads and they’re being distributed to nursing homes and hospitals across the country.

“In the memory of my father, Hugh Lynch, I want to help people in hospitals communicate with their family members,” he explains.
