MID-HUDSON – The seven counties in the Mid-Hudson Valley have joined forces to work on a plan to reopen the economy.
Leaders from Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, Putnam, Columbia, and Greene counties will be meeting virtually, said Ulster Executive Patrick Ryan.
“We are going to share data, best practices, we are going to share those sector-specific plans and really make sure this is thought through both in terms of how we open, but also when we open responsibly,” he said. “So, to kick that off later this week leaders from all seven of those counties will be meeting, virtually of course, to discuss how we best do that.”
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus said the regional approach to reopening the economy follows the governor’s guidance on Monday to plan a regional strategy to responsibly and deliberately reopen the local economy.
