We’ll never forget the coronavirus pandemic we’re living through, but a mom and dad in India are making sure their son will be reminded of it every day.
The parents have named their newborn “Sanitiser.” Yep, as in hand sanitizer.
The couple say they gave the boy the unique name as a way to encourage people to keep their hands clean to help protect against the coronavirus. The baby’s father, Omveer Singh, says it’s their “contribution” to combatting the pandemic and as a way to acknowledge this moment in history. “We will remember this period whenever we utter his name,” he says.
“Sanitiser” is actually one of a number of babies who have been born recently and given a coronavirus-themed name. Another couple from India had twins last month and named their baby girl “Corona” and boy “Covid.”
