Saugerties man charged with repeatedly violating order of protection

SAUGERTIES – A transient Town of Saugerties man has been arrested and charged with criminal contempt of a court order and aggravated family offense for allegedly repeatedly violating an order of protection involving a victim.
Saugerties Police were called to a report of a domestic dispute at 399 Route 212 on Sunday evening.
The suspect, Donald Degroat, had fled the area, but was located and taken into custody on Monday.
A virtual arraignment was held with Degroat being remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail.
