5.2% of People Would Be Willing to Catch COVID-19 to Have Sports Back

New York Knicks v Washington Wizards

Not surprisingly, a LOT of people are missing sports . . . and according to a new survey, some people are REALLY desperate to get them back.

The people at TickPick.com asked over 1,000 sports fans across America how they're reacting to the pandemic . . . and they AREN'T doing well.

20.3% said they'd give up alcohol for a year if it meant that sports could resume.  (And we're assuming that 100% of everybody else would be happy to accept those people's sacrifice.)

6.2% would give up intimacy for a year to get sports back . . . and 4.7% would take a 10% salary cut. That's a little surprising, since most people are already being forced to deal with unemployment, furloughs, and hours being cut.

But it's even more shocking that 5.2% would be willing to take their chances and CONTRACT THE CORONAVIRUS if it meant sports could resume.

The fans were also asked what they were doing to fill the sports void . . .

72% are watching more TV and movies . . . 53.8% are listening to more music . . . 51.6% are spending more time with their families . . . 48.8% are reading . . . 47.9% are pouring their extra time into social media . . .

Other stuff with between 20% and 45% includes: Playing video games . . . exercising . . . cleaning . . . being intimate . . . and listening to podcasts.

The least popular replacements were: Learning how to cook (14.5%), gardening (13.6%), watching e-sports (12.7%), and writing (12%).

The respondents said the loss of the NBA was the most upsetting, with 33.3% missing that. People are also missing men's college basketball and Major League Baseball.

Only 1.2% said they're upset about not having women's college basketball, and just above that is the PGA Tour and Major League Soccer.
