According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, local businesses, and individuals, are working hard on making mask for local hospitals.
A Non-Profit called Unshattered has done the research to see what it would take to make mask for local hospitals. They are working on making over 1,000 mask for the medical field.
Unshattered started this journey after a physician from local Vassar Brother's Medical Center reached out to see if it was possible to do, since Unshattered usually makes handbags from re purposed materials.
There are guidelines that have to be followed by the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Sew & Vac in Poughkeepsie has also stepped up to help at this time. In about 16 hours around 6 employees and volunteers made about 100 mask.
Both companies, individual workers, and volunteers, have stepped up to the task and are proud to help.
