The infamous Catskill Game Farm in upstate New York, where many families traveled hours to experience this popular weekend destination...opened in 1933, and housed more than 2,000 animals, creating memories for many. The park closed in 2006, which led the property to be neglected and in disrepair until Ben and Cathy purchased it in 2012 after they were looking 'for some property to buy' (thanks goodness my husband didn't get wind of this!). They were looking for property with 50 acres that included a well and septic. Hey...how about the Catskill Game Farm!
The husband and wife team, with a background in contracting and event planning, spent two years converting one of the barns into a boutique hotel....last August, they opened The Long Neck Inn. Read their story here.....and here's the Inn's website. You can stay in the Giraffe Room, The Elephant Room, even camp out! SO COOL!!!
