Wrong Number Helps An Elderly Woman To Get A Much Needed Walker

ISRAEL-POLITICS-PERES-OBIT

An elderly New Mexico woman mistakenly called an investigator at the district attorney’s office when she meant to call a medical supply store, but she got what she needed anyway. Bernice Weems thought she was leaving a message with the store about needing a new walker, but she dialed Kyle Hartsock with the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office in Albuquerque instead.

Hartsock’s number is only one digit off from the medical supply store Bernice was trying to reach. And instead of ignoring her message, employees from the DA’s office went out and got the 84-year-old her walker and they all chipped in to pay for it. She was totally surprised when they delivered it to her at home.

“They made me feel oh so good,” Bernice says. “It’s been a long time since I’ve felt that good.”
