I can imagine a Home Owners Association busting people for leaving their Christmas decorations up well into January or February. But this seems a lot more rare.
Nick and Claudia Simonis from San Antonio, Texas put up their Christmas decorations on November 1st.
And three days later, they got a letter from their HOA telling them they needed to take the decorations DOWN until, quote, "closer to the holiday season."
The letter didn't say WHEN it would be okay to put up the decorations . . . and because the policy seems vague, Nick and Claudia say they're not going to follow it.
Nick says, quote, "We're not going to do it. It's the Christmas spirit. We're not going to be forced by the HOA to take it down."
