A Deaf Woman Gets $5000 Water Bill From Running Toilet

Colorado State Rams v Colorado Buffaloes

We actually had this problem at the Marino homestead with the upstairs sink, the cold water was dripping and I reseated the washer and boom fixed. Next time you hear a faucet leaking or the toilet water running, make sure you fix it. A deaf woman recently received her monthly water bill for the city and when she opened it, she couldn't believe it. The bill was for $5000.

The city of Frederick, Maryland told Denise Sansonese that she had until yesterday to pay her bill or her water will be shut off.

Sansonese is deaf and could not hear that her toilet was running after a water pump tube malfunctioned. The water was running for days before her son came home from college and figured out what was going on.

There are good people in the world, and news of the bill reached the Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA), which stepped in to help pay the bill.

Denise says she is thankful for the support, especially after she says she was ignored by the city's mayor as well as numerous other charitable organizations.
