What Do You Pay Your Babysitter?

Maybe you're a new parent, maybe you've never used a sitter, or....maybe you're going to start babysitting for the first time? So what is the going rate? The say it does vary from $14.00 an hour for one child to $23.00 an hour, depends on where you live. It also depends on the age of the child and experience of the babysitter, the time of day, etc. When my girls were younger, they both became CPR certified....super important. AND do you tip or not?

Okay, here's the breakdown....West Coast: $19/hour for one child; $21/hour for two children; $23/hour for three children. East Coast: $17/hour for one child; $20/hour for two children; $22/hour for three children. Midwest: $15/hour for one child; $17/hour for two children; $19/hour for three children. Southwest: $14/hour for one child; $16/hour for two children; $18/hour for three children. South: $14/hour for one child; $16/hour for two children; $18/hour for three children.
