The phrase "throw me under the bus" has only been around for a few decades. The first time someone used it to describe sacrificing someone for selfish reasons was in an article in the "Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph" in 1991.

There have been 37 different animals in the original brand of Animal Crackers since 1903. The most recent addition was the koala in 2002.

We call chicken and turkey legs "drumsticks" because it wasn't polite to say the word "leg" at the dinner table in the 1700s and 1800s. Thighs and breasts were called dark meat and white meat back then, for the same reason.

Dartmouth makes all its students pass a swim test before they graduate so that they won’t drown and waste their education.
