I just love old cars--looking at them, not owning one anymore. This picture was taken in the mid-1980s at one of the area car shows. I think it was either a Hudson Valley Classic Chevy Club's show, or one sponsored by the Middlehope Fire Department. Anyone recognize it?
This time of year there are quite a few car shows to visit, including one of my favorites, the Dutchess Cruisers' Saturday night shows at the McDonald's in the Bridgeview Plaza in Highland. Also, Saturday, July 13th, the Knights of Columbus Council 9254 is sponsoring their annual car show in the Village of Walden Square. Here's a link for more information.
If your group has a car show coming up, let me know. We'll give it a mention on the air and maybe I will be able to drop by.

(This is a picture of my last old car--a 1953 Pontiac station wagon that I actually purchased at a car show on my 40th birthday. The car was the same age as I was! It was a pleasure to own, but then I sold it, fittingly, to a guy who used it to carry his surf board! What are the chances!? I'm happy now just to admire the old cars--I don't need to own one.)
