Stop and Shop Rolls Out New Robots Called "Marty"

So as I was searching for my lunch today I'm all of a sudden alerted to something right behind me steadily beeping. Imagine my surprise when I turn around and a big robot with googly eyes is staring back at me! This is the case for a lot of people ever since Stop and Shop rolled out mess monitoring robots named Marty to almost 10,000 locations this year. The robot is meant to monitor the aisles looking for spills or other things that need to be cleaned and when it finds something it notifies employees via the speaker system.

Other retailers are using robotic technology too. Some Walmart stores have an autonomous floor scrubber to clean the store's concrete floors and the LoweBot at Lowe's stores in San Francisco helps customers with simple questions and provides the store with real time inventory monitoring.

What do we think about robots becoming a part of our daily lives? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
