A six-year-old girl has inspired a big change to a rural Maine elementary school. MoreyBelanger arrived at Dayton Consolidated School as a kindergarten student and she’s the first deaf student they’ve had, so the school used the opportunity to teach all the students sign language.

The hallways are lined with sign language posters and the students have learned to sign over 20 words to welcome the little girl. Morey has also helped her fellow kindergarten students with learning to sign the alphabet. "Morey -- without even knowing it -- has taught us so much," says school Principal Kimberly Sampietro. "She has brought a culture to our building that we didn't have before."
